Minutus Enables Manufacturing Customer to use SOLIDWORKS on the Cloud using Amazon AppStream2.0
AppStream 2.0
S3 Bucket
Overview
Our client, a leading machining manufacturer, had trouble scaling hardware during busy project times, leading to delays and reduced productivity. Upgrading software with every release was becoming a tedious & error prone job. To address various such concerns, we implemented virtual desktops instead of on-site workstations for SolidWorks. Working closely with the customer team & AWS team, we deployed SolidWorks on Amazon AppStream 2.0.
Primary Goals
- Quickly make SOLIDWORKS and new releases available for all the users.
- Manage resources scaling up or down seamlessly based on project demands.
- Enhance overall system performance to minimize lag or delays in design tasks.
- Reduce expensive hardware management.
Features and Functionalities
- Minimized downtime and disruption to workflow, enhancing overall productivity.
- Providing instant access to the application from authorized devices with an internet connection.
- Centralized management of software updates, user access control, and session management.
Deliverables and Milestones
- Usable SOLIDWORKS on the cloud using AWS AppStream2.0.
- Application accessibility and appropriate performance while using over the internet.
- Ensure data persistency, reliability & security using S3.
